Who is Jennifer Pando?
Jennifer Pando is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. She is the first Latina to serve in the California State Senate, representing the 6th Senate District since 2020. Prior to her election to the State Senate, Pando served in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2020, representing the 80th Assembly District.
Pando was born in Sacramento, California, to Mexican immigrant parents. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley.
Pando's political career began in 2008 when she was elected to the Sacramento City Council. In 2012, she was elected to the California State Assembly, where she served two terms. In 2020, she was elected to the California State Senate, where she is currently serving.
